What's in a Name?
Submitted by: Kayla

My mother-in-law raises Persians, and her two Persians had kittens. They were so cute and as they grew, we were trying to find good names for them. One was a male, and the other was a female. Well, we figured out the girl's name was to be Gizzy Girl, but we just were stumped on what to call the other. One day, my husband and I were visiting, and the little guy was playing in the kitchen. Then we all heard a splash! We went to investigate, and there in the middle of the floor was a wet kitty. He had jumped right into the mop bucket of water that was getting ready to be used on the floor. Ever since then, we have called him Loco Lardie because he was just a crazy cat. My husband and I took Loco and Gizzy home, and they are the funniest cats you will ever encounter. They are our babies (along with our two sons).

Dipcen Caleb Makes a Friend
Submitted by: Jessica

One time, my cat Dipcen Caleb Sanders went over to our pond and took a sip of water. All of a sudden, I saw him run off, so I followed him. I came to find out that a fish jumped in his mouth! I saved the fish, and it is still alive.

Nellie Annie, the Great
Submitted by: Anonymous

I have a monkey (she acts like one) kitty named Nellie Annie. She does all sorts of weird things. One of the things she likes me to do when I get home on my lunch breaks is to turn on one of the animal channels. One day, we were watching "America's Funniest Pets." While watching this, a cat had a string tied to its tail and was chasing it. Nellie went up to the TV and was trying to attack it. Later that night, my husband and I were sitting on the couch talking, when all of a sudden Nellie took her "Cat Teaser Toy" (a very long, thin piece of cloth with a handle) and started carrying it in her mouth. She proceeded to the bedroom, came back in the living room with it tied around her tail, and started chasing it! My husband and I have no idea how shegot it tied to her tail! She's a nut.

Post-Christmas Snooze
Submitted by: Aimee

I have a 3-1/2-year-old white Persian named Zoey. She's deaf and sleeps about 23 1/2 hours per day. Well, one day after I had been taking the Christmas stuff down, my friend and I decided to go to dinner. When we got home I found my beautiful cat all curled up and asleep in a bowl. Needless to say, my friend and I have never laughed so hard. Since then that is her favorite place to sleep.

Rodents Be Gone
Submitted by: Maroo

Our cat, Oreo, is half Persian. He's cute, shy, very quick and loves chasing anything that moves across the floor. One night, my sister woke up as he jumped beside her. He suddenly opened his mouth and dropped something - his latest hunt: a mouse. It was if he was saying, "I've got something for you." The thought was nice, though. A few days after, he got rid of our mouse problem.

Zippy, the Food Bandit
Submitted by: Kay

My black Persian, Zippy, loves Italian food as much as Garfield in the funny paper. Once when my husband and I ordered pizza, we left the box on the kitchen counter during our meal. I returned to the kitchen for another piece of pizza to discover the rest of the pie on the floor. Most of the toppings were gone!

Another time, Zippy stole my husband's piece of chicken off of his plate when he left the table for a minute! When we try to take the food away from her, she runs with it.

Checking Out The Christmas Presents
Submitted by: Cheryl

One night, my mom and I were trying to get my kitten, Spunky, to do a cute picture pose because I wanted to get some pictures of him. Well, we were trying to find out how to pose him when he jumps up on the Christmas presents and starts posing, and mom's standing there yelling at him. It was rather chaotic, but Spunky quite enjoyed it!

Christmas Cat
Submitted by: Allyson

My cat's name is K.C. (it stands for Kitty Cat). He is part Persian - black and white - and he is such a gomer. One day my mom and I were putting our Christmas tree up (winter of '99). My cat then was about 6 weeks old and weighed 1 lb. 3 oz. So he was climbing the tree, and I thought that was so weird.

Well, now my cat is 1 year old and 11 lbs. 4 oz. It's the next Christmas, and we were putting our tree up again. K.C. thought he was still a baby and was climbing it. Only now at 11 pounds, he was bending our tree branches. It was so funny. But the problem is we have the balls that shatter, and K.C. already shattered one. So now we have to scare him off so he won't get hurt. He is our baby, our big baby.

Bath Tub Blooper
Submitted by: Allyson

When my cat, K.C., was small, he would love to come in the bathroom and help (he thought). When I was taking a bath he got curious about the water. So when I was in there, he jumped in, but in a split second he jumped out. When I got out, he looked liked a drenched rat!

Death Cry
Submitted by: Leah

One day, I was home by myself when I heard my cat, Mary, meowing in a very strange way, like something was wrong with her. So I went down to see where she was. She had her favorite toy in her mouth and she was looking for someone to play with. Mary still cries that way to this day. I call it the death cry. It is so funny to hear her do it.

As Close As Possible
Submitted by: Tabitha

Every night while my husband and I are asleep, our cats drape across our necks. That's how THEY sleep - Sammy across my neck and Sable across my husband's. It was really cute when they were kittens, but now they are so heavy that we can't breathe, and what air we can get is filled with fur. The problem is, since we let them sleep like that while they were kittens, we have to fight them off now!!!

The Adventures of Ladybluebell
Submitted by: Ann

My cat is a blue point and her name is Ladybluebell. She is a very sweet cat! My cat doesn't like it when I leave and she always misses me. One time, I was away at school, and Ladybluebell was in my bedroom. She came out meowing and was walking down the hall with my shirt in her mouth taking it in the living room. So my mom videotaped it! It was so funny. Now she carries my underwear from the hamper and my mom's bras and all kinds of things!

Another funny thing happened late one night. I had a cd for the computer, and it reflected a light onto the walls. So Ladybluebell was looking and decided to attack. She ended up with her body flat on the wall pretty high up and came falling down. But I was surprised because she tried to get it more then once. She is a beautiful and funny cat!

Breakfast Lover
Submitted by: Mike & Amy

Our little kitten, Dakota, is awfully playful and does some crazy stuff. One day, we were watching a friend of our kid's. He was in his highchair eating his snack of Apple Jacks. It was about time for Dakota to go outside for a while, but we couldn't find her anywhere. I looked everywhere and finally found her under his highchair, eating the cereal he dropped on the floor!

Computer Cat
Submitted by: JSarno

My kitty, Stormy, loves the computer and milk. One day he jumped up because he thought I had a glass of milk. However, I had a glass of tea and he spilled it on himself. He sat on the tower of the computer until he was dry. I got mad and yelled at him, but he gave me a "you did it - i didn't" look. I thought it was funny. (Now he is siting on my lap purring.)

Tasty Tail
Submitted by: Alya

Snowy likes to sit on the dining room table, while we are having our breakfast, lunch and dinner. So one day the food was on the table, and in one of the plates there was a red sauce. Snowy was having a walk on the table, and his tail accidentally dropped into the red sauce! So we took him quickly into the bathroom to wash his tail with water and soap. Snowy hates water so he was fidgeting around and wanted to run, but we held him tightly to finish cleaning his tail. It was very funny!

The Paper Shredder Incident
Submitted by: Sandra

First, let me introduce you to our baby. Squash is a 6-year-old copper Persian with black markings and huge copper eyes. She has funny habbits - like she grunts when you talk to her or touch her sometimes. If you find her favorite spot while petting, she'll stick her tongue out over and over again really, really fast! She takes her food out of the bowl and throws it on the ground and eats it from the floor. She likes to play with shadows more than any toy we have, and her meow sounds like she's saying "ouch."

One morning I was laying in bed, and she wouldn't stop meowing. The door was closed, and I thought she just wanted in. Well, she could wait cuz I'm warm! We have a Litter Maid cat box, and it's really loud when it turns on. Her normal routine is to "go" in the morning, so that's what I thought I was hearing in the background and ignored it. Squash wouldn't let up, so I finally got up and opened the door. Turns out she'd accidently stepped on the ON switch of the paper shredder and turned it on! She just wanted me to turn it off. Good thing I listed to her! Now we unplug it until we need to use it.

Adventures with Goldfish
Submitted by: Kathy

I have a male seal point Himalayan, who although not timid, thinks very carefully before playing with anything new. I have had three goldfish ever since I've had my himmy, and for six months now he has completely ignored them (they are unaccessible to him anyway). The other day, I was cleaning out the fish and left the tank on the floor. He walked up very carefully, sniffed and ran a mile! The fish are back in their rightful place but now every time my himmy passes them he gives them a wide berth, peeking out of the corner of his eye in case they do anything unexpected. He is absolutely terrified of them! Perhaps, as he loves tuna so much, he is afraid they will take revenge some day!

Trash?
Submitted by: Erica

One day, my two brothers and I were all getting new mattresses, and they had plastic paper around them. So we had a garbage bag to throw all the paper away. My cat, Hercules, had gotten in the bag, and we did not know. So we just threw all the paper into the bag. A little while later, Hercules started to claw his way out. When we walked in the room his little head was poking out the bag. Luckily, he did't run out of air, and we had a camera handy and got a picture of him.

The Cereal Lover
Submitted by: Kinsyi

Well, I was by my cat, Muffin, one day. I was eating cereal, and Muffin, not knowing what was in the bowl, leaped and landed in my cereal. Then she jumped back out again! I was so funny, and now she won't come in the kitchen anymore when I'm in there!

The Desiring Pallet of Pormoo
Submitted by: Alexander & Ken

She's a beautiful, kind Tortie cat but knows what she wants. This cat will not eat salmon and chicken, but knows the difference between chicken and Cornish Hen. And when Cornish Hen is cooking, it's "Meow, Meow, give me some!" Fresh fish from the Atlantic will sit in the dish uneaten, but as soon as she hears the can opener on the tuna fish can, she's in the kitchen immediately, but it has to be Clover Leaf. She turns her nose up to other brands. I have thought about calling Clover Leaf and telling them this. Maybe she could be in one of their commercials. If all else fails, she'll eat dry food but it has to be fresh everyday. She eats human food by taking her paw, picking it up, and putting it to her mouth. Otherwise, if it is a cat food, she eats it like any other cat. We love this unique cat and just wanted to share this story.

The Cat and the Can
Submitted by: Daniel

My cat, although it is not a Persian, does some pretty weird stuff. That includes the time when I brought him home some Friskies brand wet catfood. He hollered and yelped until I finally gave him a can. Afterwards, I went to bed. All night I heard a scraping noise. When I got sick and tired of listening to it, I went downstairs to see my cat batting around the empty can, his pupils huge!

The Cat in the Toilet
Submitted by: Beth

My cat, Callie, always begs for water at 9 p.m. every day. (She likes to "putch" in the water.) The cat uses the toilet seat to get onto the countertop to get her "putchy" time. So one day, Callie decided she wanted some water. (Usually, we keep the door to the bathroom closed all the time.) Unfortunatly for Callie, someone left the door open and the toilet seat up when they were done using the bathroom. Oops!! She went right in the toilet! Now, she always checks if the toilet seat is open or not. For Callie, its: "You should always look before you leap!"

Craving Socks?
Submitted by: Marie

I have a cat, although it is not a Persian. I named her Garfield, and she is my life. She is constantly doing crazy things. One day, I was in the bathroom and I heard a loud noise, I was thinking to myself, "What is that cat into now?" As I was curling my hair, I saw out of the corner of my eye my little baby carrying a big bag of socks down the hallway. She was holding the bag in her mouth with it between her legs, and her legs were all bowed out. It was so funny I couldn't stop laughing!

The Cat Who Took a Bath
Submitted by: Brenda

Aurora, my Persian kitty, used to love to jump in and out of the bathtub. The first time she saw me take a bath she was really playful, running all over the house like a wild kitty. The next thing I knew, there she was in the bath with me! She jumped out in a hurry! (What water-hating cat would not?) I found her hiding under the table and giving me a look like it was MY fault. Now when I take a bath or shower she will not come into the bathroom. I wonder if she is afraid the temptation may prove too great?

Catnip Surprise
Submitted by: Meredith

On Christmas Eve, I went to church with my family for the Christmas Eve service. My little sister, who is 10, sewed a Christmas toy as a present for our cat, Barz. I thought it was sweet of her to do that. She gave the toy to the cat before we left - never telling us what was in it. When we got back, we were horrified! Catnip was all over the rug. My little sister was crying. I told her that it meant Barz loved her toy a lot to play with it so much. Then my mom asked her why she didn't tell her that there was catnip in it. "You would yell at me for giving him catnip on Christmas Eve, and Meredith told me he likes it a lot," she said. Then Barz walked into the room with that "don't-blame-me-look" in his eyes.

The Bush Cat
Submitted by: Geoff

Gizmo will be six years old late this year and is such a big sook that it's disgusting. He rules the roost with his companion, a middle-aged tabby, named Mollie. Gizmo quite often starts a ruckus with a neighbour's cat then leaves it up to Mollie to finish. She's well versed in these situations being born in the country about eighty miles away. Mollie is a great survivor and hates anything coming into her yard. Once I witnessed her attached to the back of a Blue Heeler dog, as it yelped and scaled a six-foot fence trying to escape. She came back through the gate still spitting out dog hair and extracting it from her claws. I've never laughed so much. She's what we call in Australia "a bush cat!"

Cat Nip
Submitted by: Annie

I work for a Engineer firm. Last fall, we went to a job site to message an existing building for a structural evaluation. There were 4 floors to it. We got back at lunch time, so I went home. No sooner was I in the door than I was welcomed by all 8 of my cats at one time. That had never happened before. Then it dawned on me... the building we measured that day is a pet supply company, and they make toys for our loving animals. On the lower level of the the building they had 50 lb. bags of cat nip, which we had been crawling all over. So I had to change my clothes if I wanted to go back to work. I did get some pictures because I knew my frends would not believe me. Then I left my clothes on the living room floor for the cats. I had never seen all of them at one time so excited!

Sasy, the Persian Cat
Submitted by: Allison

One morning, Sasy, my Persian cat, walked in the house like she owned the place. I put her back outside since I have three dogs. But she came back in and ate some dog food! She wouldn't stay outside even if she was put in the back yard.
