Hubby and I had a 'discussion' this morning about Maggie and rescuing cats with major problems. He is being heartbroken by Maggie like I am and suggested that I only adopt healthy cats -- ones with no major problems. Once I calmed down, I got up, got my camera, and took this picture.

And then I said, "Here's a photo of why I can't adopt only healthy cats."
See, after talking to friends of friends and friends of workers at the local shelter, I now know why Wendy was there and why she had only 24 hours left. Wendy had not been well with her person -- diarrhea and vomiting. She was turned in and wasn't well at the shelter so a worker took her home, thinking it was the stress of being at the shelter. Didn't help, so she was returned to the shelter and given 7 days. Someone at the shelter knew she had a problem, which is why she was not advertised -- but no one told me because they were hoping I either would be so attached that I wouldn't complain, or I would get it solved somehow. Bottomline is they knew she was sick.
So, if I was a normal person (instead of weirdo), I would have either taken her back or never adopted her in the first place. (I did see her poop liquid at the shelter so I knew something was wrong with her.) So, here is why I'm willing to 'torture' myself with adopting hopeless cats...
