YUCK!!

I bathed Rosalie yesterday and, while I LOVE what Goop does
with her coat and how muc longer she stays clean
I really can't stand the strong smell.
The shampoo I am using at the moment doesn't have a strong scent.

Any ideas on how to get the stink out? :?
Or any shampoos that really leave a nice scent?

People are probably going to yell at me for saying this....

BUT, I spray some nice perfume in my hands, wave them around to dry, and then give PPP a nice pet on her back and belly. Since she would not be caught DEAD grooming herself, she just smells nice :flower: Everyone always comments on how nice PPP smells. IT wears off in a couple of days, but she always smells like whatever I'm wearing because I pick her up and carry her around with me everywhere. :)

Honestly, the best smelling shampoo I've used is the Dermazole for ringworm. I haven't found a nice one since. Have you tried Dawn to degrease her? I've been using the antifungal shampoo I have on Chunk (because I'm paranoid) and he smells gross too. Clean, but gross. :x

I used Dawn a long time ago before I heard about Goop.
I don't really remember how I liked it because it was only
a time or two (and my memory isn't the best  )

I have Malaseb antifungal shampoo and it smells like medicine.
I am using Earthbath right now but just picked up a John Paul Pet at Homegoods.

My sister gave me this Wen lavender refreshing mist - maybe I will try that
on her the way you do the perfume- I don't really like lavender that much - but it is a lot better than Goop
and hopefully won't weigh her "big hair" down.

GAH, I love Homegoods. I'm so addicted. It's becoming a problem.

Karen, have you tried Ivory Dish Soap instead of Goop? It is not the same as Dawn by any stretch. You will notice while the cat is wet in the sink as you rince off the Ivory that they feel VERY dry...but the whole idea is to strip out the oils and put them back. I like Avacado Mist by Eqyss...it really makes the coat feel awesome..smells amazing and itsn't heavy. Spray on the coat and rince well.

I know, Kira - Homegoods is scary!
Something for everything!
Every time I need something for the house decor wise I find it on the first trip :)
I so regret not buying this one thing.
It was a cat bed but looked like a very fashionable
lounge chair (like for a patio but it didn't fold)

Thanks Heather - I will try the Ivory and the Avocado mist.
I know you have mentioned it before but I thought you were using it on a dry coat for some reason
(now that I think about it, that is a little silly  )

Maybe I don't dilute the goop enough too - it is so gluey when I put it on.
But, really, I can't even remember the last time I bathed
Jacob and he STILL hasn't knotted up and looks super clean!

Karen, I use a watered down (50-50) Dawn for the first shampoo, rinse, rinse, rinse, and then a regular kitty shampoo. Years ago, I used Goop for what we called "stud tail", which is that area on their backs near the tail and also the tail. But I find that Dawn does just as good a job and it is less harsh.

Karen Fidos smells rally good just the generic shampoo for cats. I find the goop doesn't smell as we rinse rinse rinse rinse u til water runs clear it takes forever  Goop is generally used in the oil or stained areas on back, under front paws and legs never on head or face but under chin

I personally wouldn't put perfume on my kids unless I am wearing it and give them a cuddle before work, then they may get some onto them, too many things can cause irritants for cats skin and I agree malaseb is yuk but good if you plan on showing as they can pic up fungus for show cages

Oh an idea try rinsing the coat with fabrics softener a gentle smelling one but rinse thoroughly too will make them smell good and coat beautiful

Don't use lavender on a cat - it is not healthy for them. I use goop all over (except the face) for my guys. Melt it down and cut 50-50 with water, apply with a squeeze bottle ,like a catsup bottle, work in and let them sit for 10 minutes. Rinse like a madwoman and shampoo with Dawn (also cut 50-50). Then shampoo with several other shampoos. I like to end with Nutrogena claifying - smells good to me.
