I golfed ladies night last night, had some really good
drives with my new Ping!! I'm so happy I got it!

On number two green, we had the company of a beautiful dark
grey shorthair polydactel (spelling) cat. He lives in one of the houses
bording on the side of the fairway.
He came over, and played in the sand trap (biggest litter box in the world, I bet)
Didn't see him doing anything there, he was just kind of chasing the grains of sand
as they fell down the side from him jumping in there.
But then he came up on the green, and started chasing our balls
When the ball would go in the hole, he'd reach in with his huge paw and try and get
it out...
When you patted him, he had this wonderful very deep purr....
I just hope some non cat lover doesn't get upset with him if the golfer happens to miss his
putt because of this playful guy...

On number 7 fairway, there is a flock of 19 Canadian Geese there in the pond.
They are magnificent! They rarely move off of the fairway when you are driving your ball, just meander slowly off to the pond.
But what a huge pile of crap they are leaving on the fairway...you have to be careful where
you step

I must remember to take my camera next time out....I'd love to get a picture of the cat especially, chasing the balls...

Purrs,
Joan

That is awesome, my first thought was to worry about the safety of this fun loving friendly kitty.
Glad you are enjoying your new club. :D

:D I'm so glad you are having luck with the new club.
Having those geese and the cute cat makes it even more fun.

Hit them straight! :paw:

That is so cute but yes I wonder if some mean spirited golfers may come along and try to hurt the kitty. I hope not!! I know that Geese can be downright dangerous!!! John was golfing once with his brother and these geese were all near his brothers ball. He swung the golf club at the geese to try and get it to move...I dont think hard or anything...just to try and scared it away. After that the goose was following them everywhere and at one point it flew at their cart...then after he hit his ball again the goose went to it and would not move. They had to leave the hole and get somebody who worked at the course. lol. I would not want to * off a goose!!!!

Congrats on the new driver. I wonder if I would do better with a fancy one. I usually hit like 150 yards...but I hit one 185 yards a few weeks ago and I have NO idea how I did it. The best drives seem to be the ones that feel almost effortless. Then you spend the rest of the day trying to reproduce that "effortless" swing and mess it all up!

Too funny about those geese Jen
These are not people scared either..seem to know that no one
is going to do them harm.
They were off on the side one day, in the ruff.
My friend hit her ball, and it bounced to where they were.
Wasn't going fast, but you could see one goose jump up as if the ball
may have come close to his feet
But that's all he did, jump straight up, then just continued to eat whatever
was there that they were feeding on.

Yes, funny about those really good shots.
Makes you wonder, now what did I do, and can I do that again
Not sure how far out I am hitting, probably 150 or a little more..but if
I hit it right, which I have been doing more lately, it's going out here nice
and straight, no hooks or slices :D
You could go to a Golftown store and try one of the new drivers there
on one of those computerized thingies that tell you how far you have hit.
They just cover the head of the club with plastic so you don't damage it.
I know it's not quite the same feel as being on the course, but gives you an idea.
My club is the new Ping Faith...it's a 14 degree.

Purrs,
Joan

Joan, yes we want you to take the camera next time:) I would love to see that beautiful cat chase a golf ball! Hopefully all the people in your area are used to having real representatives of nature around them, wasnt there a moose on the course once in winter?

This type of weather, september early october is really my favourite, not too hot but sunny still and allows you to be outside for a walk or sit on a bench and read a book.

They are pretty from a distance, I would not want to make one mad though.
