The waiting lists for HUD and low income housing are years long, and we are on them. Have been since before we got married. We have an attorney for his disability. Should be 6 months before he gets it, you have to be denied once and everyone gets denied the first time. So we really have no chioce, but it'll work out. I may find him a temporary home and get him back when we move into our own place again.

Here there are different types of HUD funding and some are apt complexes that don't have a waiting list they may have a housing specialist you can talk to and be sure they know hubby is disabled. Having a pet may be a problem tho. Another possibility is if you belong to a church they often help

Social security can be tough but not everyone gets denied it depends on the diagnosis and how much documentation you have.
A temporary home may be you only option but I sure hope you can work it out

Everything has a waiting list here. And according to our attorney, every one gets denied by the dr you go see. My husbands mom is blind and they denied her. He has never seen a case that was approved the first go here. Low income housing in this area is full. Every one is low income. It's a small area, no jobs and everyone is poor. My friend is a vet tech and she wants him, I know she will take care of him.

It sounds like you have worked it out, I am glad, that helps ease your mind. The type of disability your husband has generally takes more documentation and has a higher rate of denial than the people I deal with, I hope it goes through easier than anticipated. Good luck and hang in there, hopefully there will be better things coming for you.

Hi Beckie,

I was just wondering how Prince is doing and if you were able to place him in a good home(?).

If so, could you ask his new owner/caretaker to join the site and give us an occasional update on how
he is doing?

Thank you and best wishes for good outcomes with your family issues.

:flower: I am so sorry you have to make this terrible difficult decision - if it was possible I would pay for him to come here.

And Joe, I understand how it feels.....I also have two extra failed rescues. ;)
