I live in the US, so I don't know which if any of these foods are available, but here's a short list of top quality dry food:

Wellness
Taste of the Wild
Natural Balance
Flint River
Felidae

If you google "grain-free cat food UK", it should pull up a list of cat foods available in the UK. If you then want to post the brands here, I'll be glad to look at the ingredients and let you know what I think.

Hi Thanks again. I looked it up and the only true cereal free food I could find was Applaws for the UK And Miss Ellie loves it its nice to see her eating again after no food for two days due to the changes It`s worth the extra money. .But the other two not as keen fingers crossed they come round to it as I did not like what changes Hills science plan had made . And I am so glad to be off Science plan after heraring what the changes were.
Many Thanks Sue and :cat: :cat: :cat:` s

Since I wrote this I have been trying a lot of food the aplaws I told you about made my cat vomit within half a hour I have found one with no cereal made by james welbeloved and at last have found one that is working with all three of my babies .
That was a frightnig time as two of them lost half a pound and were passing blood they could ill aford to loose the weight .
Still thank you as I know now that the food I had been feeding them was at fault and keeping there weight down never thought such a well know name could cause that many problems .

I'm glad you found a food that works!

When a cat vomits within a half hour, that's a food intolerance (severe allergy) and it could be anything. Grains are a likely candidate, but so is beef or chicken or .... If the same problem substance is fed in smaller amounts or the reaction is less, then you get the blood in soft stool. It doesn't matter how famous the brand is or how much the food is -- if a cat can't tolerate say beef, it can't tolerate beef.

If the new food you are feeding doesn't cause vomiting or diarrhea, then it will take some time for the intestinal tract to heal, but it should heal. Once all healed, then you will see weight gain. Be warned, this could take 2-6 weeks.
