Susan, have you tried the epidural shots? I have also suffered from back pain for the last 25 years and this past year, I decided I had enough, so I decided I was going to get to the bottom of my pain. Spent time at the gynocologist's office to be sure it wasn't gyno related, which it wasn't .. ended up having a CT scan done, and then on to a pain specialist, for the epidural. Even tho it was expensive, it was the most relief I have found in years. I can't say I'm totally pain free.. some days are better and/or worse than others, but I do feel better that I did prior to the shots. Don't be afraid of it.. You won't even see the needle, and barely even feel it. They use x-ray's to guide the needle into the precise area.
