After Kira posted her funny last night, I got thinking about a few things. So here's some disjointed thoughts.

1.) I posted about Maggie's decline so that when she does die, people aren't totally shocked. I know a lot of you guys feel close to Maggie and truly care about her. I just didn't want her end to be a total surprise.

2.) Until the end comes for Maggie, I won't be posting much about her (unless specifically asked) because it will be a rollercoaster ride and I don't want to upset people. Yesterday morning, I expected her to be dead by this noon. Last night and today, she improved -- walking better, purring when petted. We had a wonderful sunshine snuggle this morning. I know this will not last, so I tried to fully enjoy it while it was happening.

3.) The other reason I posted about Maggie is that I need lots of hugs. I'm on an emotional rollercoaster and it's hard. I love her so very much. But I've spent so much time on her, that I feel I've neglected the others, which hurts me to think I have. (Isabel has lots of mats, Spencer's face needs cleaning,...) I wish I could quit my job to stay with Maggie, but I can't.

4.) My hubby withdraws when he's upset and grieving -- I want to talk and cry. (Those that I have talked to on the phone -- thank you a thousand times. It has really helped.)

5.) And I will do this all again. I know Dante is on borrowed time as is Clancy. After they go, I probably will find a new hopeless case and go through this all again. This is the price I'm will to pay to give Maggie (and others) a good life even if for only a short time. But knowing this doesn't make it any easier. It has really taught me to cherish each moment you have with a cat. (And why I feel like trash for letting Isabel get matted.)

Thanks for listening and thanks for being here for me, my hubby, and Maggie. Now, go love your kitties as if they were dying tomorrow!!!

We understand Linda. Its so hard. You post or not post as much as you like. The thing I love about this group is how close we all are. Sometimes we make each other cry sometimes we make each other laugh. We are all friends here.

I was so unhappy at the time ( I still keep looking for her), but I had to let my Cleopatra go on Friday 13. I just didn't feel I had anything to say, as the whole evening was traumatic. I miss my old lady so much. I will always remember the first time she came to me in the kitchen and asked to be picked up. I had gotten her from the SPCA almost a whole year earlier, and she wouldn't let me hold her or even pet her for long. I stood in the kitchen holding her and hearing her PURR!! and I was crying and thanking her for trusting me and for wanting me to hold her. This never really changed. She would suddenly come up, DEMAND to be held, stand it as long as she could, then want down again. NOW!!! I know I made a difference in her life, and she certainly made a difference in mine. When I think about what you have given MAGGIE Moo, and ALSO US by sharing her, I am awed, and happy, and sad, just as I was that day in my kitchen. It is hard to put them down, to let them go, to believe we will see them and they will come to us again and want us. I believe in that bond and in
love being eternal. After all, we all know there is no such thing as "just a cat"
Hugs and tears
Gail
