Hi everyone! I hope someone can help me with this problem...

My cat Jellie gave birth to 4 babies today and all were stillborn. :( This is her second litter. The last litter she had 3 live, 2 stillborn, and one die the next day. She also delivered a baby on Wednesday that was stillborn too. She seemed fine and I could feel the babies moving around. I called the vet who didn't seem concerned and didn't think I should come in. I also read some articles online that said it is common for cats to expell a dead kitten and still deliver the rest of the litter normally. So I let it go. Now I'm feeling like I should've done something more. I feel horrible, guilty, and disappointed! Any thoughts?

I also want to know when or if I should breed her again?

Thanks.

I'm so sorry you lost all of your kittens.
It must be the hardest part of breeding.

Do you have a mentor? Perhaps if you check
the CFA you might be able to locate
someone who has had similar experiences and
can offer you some suggestions.

As she has aborted the whole litter it would be a good idea to take her to the vet to get her checked out, a round of antibiotics is probably necessary. As this is the 2nd time she has had problems you may want to consider spaying her, that is what I would do in this situation. It is always so hard to lose kittens and I'm sorry.

Yes, she could possibly have a low-grade uterine infection that requires antibiotics.

I'm so sorry she aborted her entire litter... that had to be very difficult for you. :(
