Little B's breeder told me that after her vaccinations it would be a nice idea to have her first bath-well,she had her vaccinations and she is already three months old,so no excuses...problem is,I have to confess...I
have never bathed a cat before  and I now feel so bad that I never paid attention to hundreds of posts concerning anything to do with bathing :oops:I just want to make things as easy for her as possible  and I would appreciate all your advice and suggestions

People gave me lots of good advice on this subject last month. PPP's mum was gonna make us a video, but I sorta think she is busy these days.

Let's see...
Cut her nails
Comb her out really well - knots get tighter when they are wet
Have everything ready - towels on the counter - blower set up (I do it on the washer/dryer) - comb and scissors handy (just in case there is a little knot that is easier to snip out then tug at)
Degrease first using Dawn or Goop and rinse
Wash, wash and wash
Rinse, rinse and rinse - and rinse some more!
I don't use conditioner but I am probably one of the only ones - so condition if you want
Rinse, rinse, rinse, rinse, rinse......

I really don't have any blow drying tips - when I do it, it's not pretty
but others seem to do just fine.

Kira, we could use that video now!!!

OH MAN, THE VIDEO!~ I TOTALLY FORGOT!

Karen has really good tips. Make sure you DILUTE the dawn... otherwise yo'ull be rinsing FOREVER

Blow drying tip: Sit down on the floor on a towel with your legs out (not indian style..omg that's probably not PC, but I'm Native American, so I'm going with it) put the baby facing AWAY from you in your crotch area in between your legs (ok.. this post is getting ridiculous), then hold her chest and blow dry. It will make her feel safer feeling you, and scare her less if it isn't blowing AT her but behind her.

Oh gosh - YES!!
I dilute the shampoo too - almost to a watery consistency and use an old sports bottle to squeeze it all over them

Oh and, Kira - that would be criss cross applesauce

When bathing keep her facing away from you - she won't be able to climb you that way to try to get away. Blow drying from behind will also give you a fluffier coat - blow against the way the hair grows to increase volume. The most important thing is to rinse extremely well.
