I own a 12 week old cream persian male for not quite a week. Currently he is still a bit skittish. He has been eating Pro Plan Kitten. But I plan to slowly adjust him to Nature Variety Raw Beef/Chicken medallions and NV dry kibble. He is still leery about being held or even coming to me. He runs away but does come out to play by himself.

Do give the little fellow time. Get down on his level (i.e. on all fours or lying on the floor) and let him come to you. It took about a year before Bogart would sit on my lap, now he demands some laptime every day! He is letting me hold him longer recently. Things take time.

Welcome to the group! We have a lot of experienced owners who can give you some advice on your new little guy. It does take time -- he is in a totally new and strange place. Just think how you would feel and treat him accordingly.
