I thought you guys may be interested in looking at this site for "Young Again" cat food. It is the absolute best cat food- next to an all meat raw diet, that you can feed your cat- regardless of what your vet's are telling you.

Hey Tracy...there was a guy at the National who was shoving this stuff at me at the show. It does look great...but it is quit expensive! My jaw hit the floor when he said $100 per bag!!!! I can feed my cats stickly raw, get the same effect, and spend way less money. Mind you that is me. Not everyone is comfortable with doing raw, and that is totally understandable...so for those that are more comfortable with dry...this is fantastic food indeed!

$100 is for a 25 lb bag. You can buy an 8 lb bag for $38 with free shipping and it does last a lot longer than regular dry. If you are a breeder, you probably have more than a couple of cats, but if you are a pet owner- I think that this food is feasable- especially if you don't feel comfortable with Raw or would like the convienience of feeding dry. I think a combination would be best really. I'm not sure where you get your raw sourced from, but unless you are grinding your own and have a very good good source of hormone/antibiotic free meat, raw is more expensive.

Why is this "Young Again" dry food the best? The ingredients are basically the same as other grain-free premium brands.

Here's a comparison chart PDF File on Young Again compared to the premium "grain-free" foods, for those of you who are really interested-
All of the information on the foods ingredients, testimonials, free sample offers ect is on their website.

I don't use this food myself. In a cattery, it just isn't possible, but I would if I were a pet owner with just a couple of cats and didn't want to feed raw full time.

I actually feed Blue Ridge Beef kitten grind...I don't feed only raw but rather supplement with it 50/50. However I have done the math and with the number of cats I have, I can feed raw only and spend only about $150 or so a month...with suplements. Note that I share the expense of the purchase of the BRB with a friend and we do not ship it...we buy from a local supplier. So that could be why I have the savings I have.

I'm not so sure it would be easy to talk a pet buyer into $38 for a 8lb bag...some maybe but not many. I'm lucky to get people to use TOW or Innova Evo...so this is not one I will be using as a breeder simply because I want something more readily available and without such a shocker price tag. JMHO.

What do the kibbles look like??? I may try a bag. Elvis will ONLY eat Royal Canin and I would like to have them on grain-free but he's not having it. I think Wed Wed would eat most anything... smile

I called and spoke with a sales person, I believe her name was Jennifer? She sent me quite a few sample bags for me to try on my crew. The kibble is quite small, smaller than the Royal Canin for Persians. I gave them some last night and for the most part it was a hit.

I have to currently feed everyone the Purina for struvite stones and I asked Jennifer if their food would be good for that and she said most definitely. Right now I am paying about $53 for a 16 pound bag of Purina, so if I spent $100 for 25 pounds I would be out about 7 pounds but if they eat less of it, then it might be well worth it.

Would like to talk to my vet first and get her opinion.

I just called and spoke to Jennifer and she is sending me some samples and I told her how important the size and shape was for Persians and she promised me that she could get Elvis to eat this... smile

We will see, it is good that I do not have to buy to find out that he won't... I am hoping that both of my boys will give this a shot!!!!!
