Top photo is Spencer. He is a copper eyed shaded silver - a no no in the shows. I showed him as a kittens since his eye color had not come in yet and he did well. He is a snuggler when I go to bed -especially if the weather is cool. He is the father of the 2 girls in the following pictures. First is Zippy, who also has crummy eye color. Zippy is a sweet girl who will lay next to me in the chair, flat of her back making biscuits in the air while I pet her tummy. The next is Tabitha, sorely in need of a bath. She got her sires eye color and I love it. Of the kittens Spencer sired before I had him neutered, Tabitha is the most adventurous. Not much bothers this girl except she doesn't like being picked up. She wants all 4 paws on the ground.

beautiful cats, all.

I'm reminded of the oft repeated expression "a good horse is never a bad color"

That's the way I feel about eye color. Standard or no standard.

Copper-eyed shaded silvers may be a "no-no" in the show halls, but Spencer is absolutely gorgeous in my book!! His daughters look like they inherited their daddy's good looks. :)

The ironic thing is I posted his picture on an international breeders forum I belong to. There were several breeders from the UK that emailed me and asked if I had girls for sale that he had sired. Evidently in some registries in Europe a copper eyed silver can be shown as a Pewter Persian. I am a little bit prejudiced, but I just love his look.
