A New Persian! As many of you know, it's been several years now since I said farewell to my sweet Himalayan Rajah. It's taken me a long time to heal from that loss. I'm happy to announce that I'm moving forward... we're rescuing a Smoke Persian! Currently, she is living with the owners of a rescue group but she will be coming to live with us in early October. Her name is Snickers, and she's a year and a half old. She was rescued from people who were very neglectful. She was covered in knots, and the fur around her face was so matted that she couldn't get her little mouth open to eat or drink. The rescuers took her to the vet immediately where they shaved off the knots and got her rehydrated and fed. She was also severely infested with fleas. Once the vet released her back into the rescuers' custody, they took her home and started her on Revolution, which has eliminated the flea problem. She's put on some weight, and her skin is looking much better now that the fleas are gone. She is honestly one of the sweetest kitties I've ever seen. The night that we met her, she stayed in my lap for over an hour just purring and making biscuits. She's such a wonderful little girl. I'm really looking forward to making her a part of Persian-Cats.com. Once I bring her home and start snapping pictures, I'll definitely share them with you all. And I've already created a game in her honor called Snick-Tac-Toe, which you can access from the Games page. Stay tuned for more Snickers updates!
